Water baby

Ashton is turning into a water baby these days. He loves to be in the water. Because it has been so hot lately we have played in the pool everyday, he is so happy and content while playing I have a hard time making him stop. Today I was too lazy to drag out the pool and I was needing to get out of the house, so we went to the Bountiful community pool. Ashton loved it he had so much fun. Another bonus with swimming it wears him out. He missed his afternoon nap, so he is in bed for the night, I feel a little guilty putting him to bed so early but he is tired and he didn't get upset about being put to bed at all. So now Jason and I can have some quality time together :)
The water was shallow enough for him to walk around in and he was loving it.

I love being home

I had to take this week off of work because Ashton's daycare was closed. It has been so nice to just be home I could so get use to this. Ashton and I went over to the Bellamys house today so that the boys could play. Ethan is 3 1/2 but they play together really well and it lets Korie and I sit and talk. We had a great afternoon. The kids played in the pool in the front yard and when they got tired of that we came inside and they watched a movie. It is just funny to see how kids interact with each other, Ashton will try to do what the older kids are doing, but then he is also content sitting and watching them play.

Ethan and Ashton playing in the pool

Ashton sitting on the front step after he dumped out all of his puffs, watching Ethan and Maggie running around. He was so content and happy I didn't even stop him from eating them off the ground. Oh well a little dirt never hurt anybody right?

Mason was all smiles and happy after his nap and some food
We just have to thank Korie for a great afternoon we didn't mean to stay as long as we did but it was fun and it wore Ashton out. He fell asleep in the car after about 3 mins and is still asleep now.

Cookie Cutters

I took Ashton to get a haircut today at Cookie Cutters. In the past haircuts have been a stressful thing. Ashton screams and cries the whole time, he won't sit still and it is trying for all involved. I was hoping that going to a place just for kids would make it a better experience. I was right he still fussed a little when she was using the clippers but he sat through the haircut and was awesome. First he got to choose his chair, he choose the police car. Then he got to choose a movie, I actually choose for him they put in Cars for him and that was perfect he sat and watched the movie with only a little bit a crying. I was so happy with the experience that I will definitely be going back again. Besides his haircut looks so cute, my baby is growing up way to fast.
Right before she started cutting his hair. It was so long he needed a haircut really bad
Right after his haircut, he wouldn't look at the camera or even smile, oh well doesn't his hair look cute though!
When we got home I spiked his hair, I did get a little carried away but I think it still looked cute. It makes him look so grown up.

Getting ready for baby

I have to admit I was disappointed when we found out that we were having another boy. I so had my heart set on having a girl and getting to by cute dresses and putting bows in her hair. Now after having a few days to think this over, it is a good thing that we are having another boy. It will be good for Ashton to have a little brother to play with and I seriously don't need to buy anything. Ashton had so much stuff I am set. Now that being said I will buy this baby some new things I just can't help my self, sorry honey I will try to control myself :) just a few things here and there I promise.

We are having to change rooms around in the house to make room for baby #2, we got rid of our guest room, my mom came and got that furniture this weekend. Thanks mom for that, now we are moving the office downstairs which will be nice it is a little bigger room so I am excited to rearrange things and make a space for me and Jason. We spend so much time in the office it will be good for Jason to have a table for all his computer stuff and I can have my space for scrapbooking and whatever else I am working on. I am on a mission to find a new table and maybe some new storage, we will see, I need to get to IKEA and see what I can find. Jason is not so much a fan of IKEA so I will go alone and report back and see what he likes to save him from having to go.

Now I have to repaint the office/new baby room again. I just painted it a few months ago to a light lavender color which I have totally loved. I am sad to see it go, another reason why I wanted a girl it would of been a perfect color oh well. I don't think that will work for a little boy, I have a few ideas of what I want I just need to make up my mind. I figured I should get started on this now while I still have the energy and can do all this moving around before I get to huge.

We bought Ashton a big boy bed a few weeks ago at IKEA, so that we could use his crib for the baby, he loved this bed he got so excited every time he saw it. Its just a small toddler bed but we figured if we got a bed he loved and wanted to be in it would make a transition much easier. I am just worried about the transition from the crib to the bed. It definitely needs to be done before the baby gets here, but he goes to bed so awesome I am being selfish and wanting as much sleep as I can get while I still can.

It's a Boy!!!!!

Ashton is going to be a big brother. We are expecting baby #2 due December 8.
We went to Fetal Foto tonight, because I couldn't wait till to find out what we were having. At first the baby was not cooperating, his legs were tucked up close to him with one foot underneath his bum so we couldn't see anything. The technician had me drink a bottle of cold water and lay on my side a couple of times to try to make the baby wake up and move a little bit so we could see what he was hiding. He finally unfolded enough to see his little parts.
I do have to admit I wanted a little girl and was a little disappointed, but at least this way Ashton will have a little brother to play with and I don't need to buy much for this baby, Ashton had so much stuff and with them being born the same time of the year it works out great. That I know has to make Jason happy, me not shopping :)

Trip to Denver

Thursday when Jason got home from work he was talking to Lisa and they decided it would be a good idea for us to come to Denver for the weekend. So we quickly packed some things and got in the car and headed to Denver.
Here is Ashton happy to be heading to Denver to see the Johnstons.

We were on the road by 4:50, according to the TomTom it was going to take 9 hours to get to Denver. It ended up only taking about 7 1/2 hours, we got their about 12:30 that night. Ashton was awesome in the car, he watched movies and fell asleep about 9:30. It was fun to spontaneously take a trip like this. We had a great weekend eating lots of good food and even getting in some great shopping.
Jason and the girls playing Mario Cart.
Ashton getting mommy loves. I have to get them in when I can. He is so busy these days it is hard to get him to sit still for pictures any more.
My sweetie

Watching Fireworks, he loved them I wasn't sure how he would react to them, this was his first time seeing fireworks.

We just have to give a big thanks to John, Lisa, Mia, and Ryan for an awesome weekend. It was nice to spend the holiday with some great friends.

fun weekend

Our friends The Johnstons from Denver were here over the weekend, and we had so much fun. They got here late Thurs night and I didn't get home from Jackson Hole until Friday afternoon. So that meant that Jason was in charge of cleaning the house, he did a great job I wasn't worried at all :) We spent lots of time at IKEA and just hanging out. It is always an adventure when we all get together. The kids all play together pretty well we only had to have a few time outs for Ashton. I didn't take very many picture while they were here Lisa takes so many that I just figured that I can always get copies from her.
Here is Ashton at IKEA John brought in his PSP so that Ashton could watch a movie while we were shopping. He sat in the shopping cart and was content for a while then he got bored. But it was a nice distraction while it lasted.
Here is Jason and Ashton at IKEA. Jason doesn't enjoy IKEA like Lisa and I do. So he took one for the team and he went on Friday before I got home, then we went again Saturday.
