Hamburgers

I found these online and I had to make them for Father's Day. They were just to cute to not try it. The buns were yellow cupcakes, the hamburgers were brownies, and the fries were sugar cookies. I just piped on frosting for the lettuce, mustard, and ketchup. I had a blast making them.

trains, and planes

So out of habit I look in the classifieds on KSL all the time for toys or whatever for Ashton. I scored big this time. I found this huge set airplane set, with the airport, barn and bridge with the plane for $50. Just the airport alone is $50 at Target (we have to check out the trains every time we go to Target, Ashton asks as soon as we get in the parking lot) We set it up in the living room and added the stuff we already had, it has been so much fun.

Now all we need is a room big enough for this to stay up all the time. It doesn't get to stay in the living room forever.

Big 31

Because I was sick on Monday which was my birthday, I am 31 and I have no idea where the time has gone, but that is another story. I felt like crap all day. Jason called mid afternoon to see how I was feeling, when I said I felt like crap and didn't want to go out, he said he was going to bring the party to me. Well party wasn't the right word for it, but he brought me some BEAUTIFUL flowers and dinner from Red Iguana. Now I know you might think that being sick all day who would want mexican food. ME, it was so good it was perfect. We were going to go birthday shopping, but I just wasn't up to it so maybe later in the week or this weekend.

We did do a family celebration on Sat, with everyone going to eat at Pat's BBQ, then to our house for angel food cake and strawberries (I was trying to be good, I am still counting calories while I am doing boot camp). I am just going to have a birthday week, so far I have not had to make a meal except for breakfast since sat, so I am doing pretty good. Me not having to cook means not having to clean up the kitchen, which is a treat for me !!

haircuts

My boys desperately needed haircuts, as you can see in the pictures above. So I thought that today would be a good day to do it. I told Ashton we were going to go get a haircut. He seemed excited about it, and kept saying "aircut", "aircut mom". We got to cookie cutters and they were pretty busy we were told there would be a 15 min wait, which was just fine then Ashton could play for a little bit. Noah went first and he did great he fussed a little bit, but he had his binky so it wasn't to bad.

Next came the devil child (I say this love mom!) I thought with Ashton getting to play and Noah going first and him watching it would be better. He flipped out, I could not get him in the seat, I couldn't even get him to stand in the car. He cried and screamed like I was beating him right there. After about 10 or so mins of me struggling with him, I told the lady I will just hold him. So with me holding him screaming and kicking and arms all over the place she cut his hair.

It was by far the worst experience we have had. Nothing worked for him today, not a movie, not a sucker, not bubbles, nothing he screamed and cried. I was told this wasn't the worst she has had to deal with but I kind of think she was being nice about it.

And what was Noah doing while all of this was going on. I had put him in his car seat and strapped him in and left him in the front of the store. A nice lady sitting waiting for her son to get a haircut, was rocking him in his seat cause he had started to cry, but I would of never heard it over the racket Ashton was making. I almost had forgotten I had a second child. I must be an awful mother.

If Ashton didn't look so much like an orphan child with his hair long I would just let it go, but I can't. So until he figures out it is not painful I guess this is what we have to go through.

As we are walking to the car, I am covered in hair and itching like crazy, I look at Ashton and decided I am not going to put him in his carseat with his shirt covered in hair, so I take his shirt off. That set off another round of screaming for most of the ride home, thank goodness it only took about 10mins to get home.
As soon as we were home Ashton was happy like nothing had ever happened.

7 months

I can hardly believe it has been 7 months since Noah was born. The time has flown by so fast.
A few things about Noah:
He is no longer nursing, this means he can have sleepovers at grandma's house ya!!
He loves to eat food
He loves his binky, I love having a binky baby Jason does not
He is sleeping through the night, most of the time
He is interacting with Ashton, and it is cute to watch them together

He rolls all over the place
He is sitting up

If his binky isn't in his mouth, he has fingers, or toes, or something in it
He has already had one haircut and is in need of another one
He hates to be left by himself in a room
He likes to watch movies with Ashton

He still has a ton of hair, although he does have a small bald spot on the back of his head

He drools like crazy
Overall he is a great baby, and we couldn't love him more.

Week 2 boot camp

So this is week #2 for boot camp. I am really liking getting up in the morning and working out, it is so much better than doing it in the evening. I like that fact that there are lots of people in my class so that all the attention is not on me all the time like it was the first time I did boot camp. I haven't gotten on a scale yet to see if I have lost any weight yet, but I do feel much better since I started exercising. I don't even have a scale at home. maybe I should go and buy one.

Also on a different note, I am officially done nursing Noah. I was still trying to nurse him once or twice a day, but last week he decided that he didn't want to nurse anymore. I am totally fine with this, I had told myself I was going to make it to 6 months and I did, I almost made it to 7 months so I feel pretty good about that.

Today we got to go and check out a fire truck at the fire station in Centerville. Natalie's husband is a firefighter and so we went to see him during playgroup today. Ashton loved the truck he had a blast climbing in the truck and wearing his fire hat. He tried on one of the big hats he was barely able to hold his head up with it on his head. He got to have one of his own little hats, which he didn't want to take off it was cute. He even got to spray water from a fire hose on the back of the truck. Ashton was a little scared at first but when he saw Macy and Nate doing it he finally wanted to try it. I was so bumbed I didn't have my camera with me (I thought it was in my purse and it wasn't, I am going to have to go find it) so the only pictures I got were on my phone. so they weren't awesome, but at least I got some.

Ashton and Macy with the fire hose

Nate and Ashton in the truck, and Ashton in the hat he was barely able to pick up

New door

So a few months ago we realized that the lock on our sliding door was broken and would not lock. We have been wanting to get a new door for quite a while. It has been on the list of things we want to do around the house, for a couple of years. It seemed like a good time to finally replace it. At first we wanted to get french doors but soon realized that they would not fit in our small kitchen. So new sliding door it was. We decided to go with a door that had the blinds inside the glass, and I am loving that decision, no cleaning of the blinds and the kids can't break them. Now maybe it would be a good time to get the molding up in the kitchen! We love the new door it is so much better than the old one.

Boot Camp Again!!

I am doing Boot Camp again. For those that remember I did this last year, I started about mid January and it went for 6 weeks. I lost about 3olbs during those six weeks and the month after that. Then I got pregnant. So I am back where I started in the first place a year ago. I was able to talk Jason into letting me spend the money and do boot camp again. I am excited for this I need to lose this baby weight, and this is a great way for me to get started.

I am going in the morning from 7-8 before Jason goes to work. So I went this morning and I had to have all my measurement taken and body fat tested, not so much fun. I was very thrilled that I did not have to wear the weight vest like I did last time. Because I have done boot camp before, I can opt out of wearing the vest again, and I did. It was a good work out, we did legs today. I think I am going to like this morning exercising, it will be nice to get it done and out of the way for the day.

New Car !!!

Well for Ashton at least. I have been searching KSL for toys for Ashton lately, I finally got one before it was sold. Ashton is going to have so much fun with this and I couldn't beat the price of $15, we did have to drive to Midway for it yesterday after Jason got off work, but we stopped at the outlets in Park City on the way home. We got Jason some more work clothes and I found a cute outfit for each of the boys. So I would consider it a successful trip.
