Kitchen redo

While we still weren't finished with the bathroom or our bedroom, I decided that I wanted to paint the kitchen.  I was bored and wanted to be doing some kind of house project, but I was waiting for Jason's help to finish somethings in the bathroom and the bedroom so the next project was the kitchen.  I headed to Home Depot and got my gallon of paint (by the way I LOVE the new Behr paint and primer all in one paint, it works awesome).  I put the boys down for their nap and I started painting.  I was able to get the whole kitchen painted doing two coats that day.  The only area I didn't get to was where the fridge was I needed Jason to help me move the fridge.  I was able to get to the fridge area a few days later and Jason and I got up the baseboards.  The only thing we have left to do is paint the baseboards.

I am pretty happy with how it came out, it is much lighter and fresher.  My inspiration for the color was some dishes that I found at Tai Pan.  I loved the color and knew that was what I wanted my kitchen to look like.  Jason thinks I am weird for this but now I want to get rid of all my dishes and go buy new ones that will match the kitchen.

I do need to make some curtains but I am still deciding what I want to do, so until I figure that out the blinds will have to do.

Here is the kitchen before.  I couldn't find any recent pictures this one was taken will we were in the process of finishing the kitchen years ago.  We had the lighter green in the kitchen and the darker green for an accent wall in the dining room.

One down, four more to go

I have finally finished Ashton's room, well almost anyways.  I wanted a room that wasn't to babyish and that I would not have to change for a really long time.  I found his bed on KSL last fall and I refinished it and I am loving how it turned out.
I have always loved the pottery barn look so that was what I kind of had in mind with the bed and the bedding, I found his quilt at The Village Quilt shop and I bought his sheets at Target. I really wanted to get some sheets from Pottery Barn but they were $50 verses the $20 I paid for the ones at Target.

I was originally going to paint his room a blue but I couldn't find a color that I loved.  Then I decided I should do something a little more neutral, and I love how it came out.  It makes the room seem so much brighter.

I have to wait 3 more weeks till I can take out his little toddler bed.  I guess I don't have to wait, but I am so that his head has some more time to heal.  He has never fallen out of bed so I don't think that he will fall out, but I think of these things now so we are waiting.

I still need to get some curtains, I am thinking I want some roman shades, but I can't decided what color the curtains should be.  I don't know if I want red or blue I can't decide.
It feels good to have one room done.  Now I can work on some of the other projects I have going.  I did get the upstairs bathroom painted yesterday, now I just need to get some new trim, and get the finishing touches up.  Then it is onto our bedroom the kitchen and the bathroom downstairs.

Say Cheese!!

I decided that I wanted to try and take some pictures of my boys last week.  So I took them outside and made my attempt.  Noah was not cooperating at all, I couldn't get him to look at me at all.  Ashton on the other hand was awesome.  It took a couple of shoots for him to really start smiling but I think I got a couple of cute shots.  I did a little editing to them but I need to practice with the editing process a little more.

On Sunday when we only had Noah (Ashton had spent the night at my mom's house) I tried to get a couple of cute shots of him.  He was semi cooperative.  I just love both of these boys even though they drive me crazy some days.

I love this picture the look on his face is priceless, we were playing peek a boo.  Just don't look at his finger nails to closely, he had been playing in the dirt.

Happy Mother's day

I had an awesome mother's day, it turned out perfect.  My mom had come and got Ashton Saturday afternoon so we only had Noah till we all met up for brunch.  I had told Jason that I didn't want to change one diaper all day and he was went along with it, I did have to change one first thing in the morning but that was all.  It was so nice to take a break from that little task.

Noah was so funny he did not want his picture taken at all, he kept trying to hit the camera away from him, it was so funny.  I am not sure what it is but I love pictures of my when they are crying.

We got one semi smile out of Noah, this is the only pic of me and any of my boys, I tried for one later in the day but neither of them would cooperate, so I gave up.

Jason took Noah out to buy a present for me so I had the house to myself for a couple of hours and it was
heaven, so peaceful and quiet.  The boys got me a beautiful hanging basket of flowers, and some M&M's and a card.  Jason said that Noah actually picked out the card.

We went to brunch at The Gathering Place at Gardner Village, it was delicious.  I loved that we didn't have to cook or clean up anything,  plus it was fun to go back there because that was where Jason and I got married almost 4 years ago.  Brunch was delicious, we sat outside in the garden and we ate and visited and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

We had to wait for about 45 mins, so Jason was great at entertaining Noah while we waited.

Myron and his Mom Lillian

Mom and I

Our family seemed so much smaller this year with the twins both gone.  Leland is in Afghanistan, and Aaron is on a cruise.

I followed the boys around with the camera trying to get both of them to look at the camera and smile at the same time.  This was the best that I could get.

Mom and Myron

I loved this idea I want to find an old wheel barrow and plant some flowers and put in in my yard.

Afterwards we went back to Mom's house and we spent the rest of the day just hanging out and visiting.  It was a low key and wonderful day.  I wouldn't of changed a thing!

Score

I scored an apple monitor for $100 Jason was pretty ecstatic about it.  He already had one, but everything is better in a pair right!
