Halloween

The boys were so excited to go trick or treating this year.  We went with our neighbors seeings how we are moving and the boys play together all the time.  They started out strong running from house to house.  This year we actually hit most of the neighborhood, the only complaint we got this year was toward the end Noah couldn't hold his bucket any longer cause it was too heavy so I got to carry it for the last couple of houses.  We are so going to miss this neighborhood, it is such a great neighborhood.

Here are my Mario, and pirate

The boys and Truman

Daddy decided to dress up again last minute.  I think he did a great job with only working on it for about 10 mins.   Although Noah wanted nothing to do with him, I think he was a little scared.

We wanted to get a quick family photo, Truman our neighbor had to be in the pic with us.  He has even told us that he is going to move with us so that he can play with the boys all the time.

I think this was the favorite house of the night, the boys have been talking about this house for weeks.  Ashton told me he wants us to have a house that is big enough to have one of these.  Little does he know we aren't going to :)

Jason I think you have a little something on your face.

It's a Girl!!

So today i had my 20 week ultrasound with my doctor.  I have been patiently waiting for this day for so long, Jason decided a while ago that he didn't want to know what the baby was going to be and thought we should wait till the baby was born to find out.  While in theory I think that is an awesome idea when it actually came right down to it, I just can't do it I need to know what were having so I can plan and be ready when the baby comes.

I finally was able to talk him into knowing what the baby was so we just waited till this appointment.  There may have been a few tears on my part when we found out it was a girl, I was so excited.    I was so thrilled to know and finally be able to start planning a nursery and now since it is a girl I can go shopping to get this little one some clothes.  Now Jason isn't thrilled with the shopping, but what can one do she will need clothes!  It will be so nice to have another girl in the family, I have been out numbered for a long time.

update on the house

So we are officially under contract, we have sold our house and it only took a week.  I am still in a little bit of shock over it, and still have my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong and everything still falls into place.  We are still in negotiations on our new house, the bank is not being very cooperative about a few things we found out during the inspection.  So I am once again hoping all goes well.  I am excited about this new adventure we are going to be embarking on, but also a little scared about packing up this house and moving on.  This has been our home for over 6 years and so much has happened  in this little house I am sad to move on, but also excited for the new place.

For Sale

We are selling our house, we finally found a new house that will be perfect for our family one that we can grow into and raise our family.  We are so excited about it and hope that everything works out, but in the mean time we need to sell our current home.  I have to say I have a lot of mixed feelings about it.  Some days I can tell you how much I hate this house and want something new, and other days I think about all the memories we have here in this home and I am so sad to leave.  It is the only home our boys have ever know, we have a wonderful neighborhood that I am so sad to leave. This is the house that we have made together, we have updated the whole house and made it our own.  It hasn't been an easy process getting the projects done or on our marriage, but we have survived.  What we have learned from this house is we do not want another fixer upper, we want a house we can move into and not have to change a thing.  Well at least not anything major, paint and little things aren't a big deal.   It is really hard to leave the friends we have made, but making this move will be the best for our family.

If anyone is interested or knows anyone who needs a wonderful house in the North Salt Lake area send them our way.

family pictures

So yesterday we had family pictures with my dad's side of the family. We had quite the group, I was shocked at how well the kids did, we had a few little mishaps but for the most part they all cooperated.  We also had some individual shots taken of all the families, but I was sitting down and it is not the most flattering of me so I am not posting them.

All the grandkids on this side of the family, they are all pretty close in age with Ashton being the oldest at 5 almost 6 and Jason being the youngest at 3 months.  Poor little Sydney she is a little outnumbered by the boys, but that doesn't seem to stop her she can keep up with them no problem.

Summer Catch Up

So I was going to blog about the rest of our summer but I am just not up for it so I am going to finish off the rest of the summer with this last post.  For my birthday Jason had a work retreat that weekend, I know awesome right, so we went to breakfast at one of our favorite little cafes for breakfast before he headed off to work.  It was fun I think we need to do it more often.

Then we went to dinner at Texas roadhouse, with all the family that was in town for Grandma's party, we had quite the large group the highlight was when my 95 year old grandma climbed up on the saddle for out happy birthday song, it was awesome.

Then on Sunday when Jason was finally home I wanted to do something fun with the family so we headed up to Park city and did the alpine slide and coaster, the boys and us loved it.  We ended the birthday weekend with a little shopping trip to the outlets for my birthday present.

For the 4th we decided to go to Lagoon, the boys have been dying to go and figured we just needed to make it happen, some people thought we were crazy to go on a holiday but it was actually not that busy.  It was hot but it is July so you kind of have to expect the heat.  We had so much fun, Noah was so sad that he couldn't ride all the big rides, he would hang his head and try to tell us how big was.  He definitely is our thrill seeker.  Ashton is much more hesitant, we got him on the white roller coaster, wild mouse, and the Bat and that was all for the big rides.  He could of rode most of them but they all seemed to scary for him.

Then came the big trip of the summer, I headed to Canada with the boys and the twins.  We were going for a family reunion, I was most excited to see Grandma and Grandpa it had been almost 6 years since I have seen them, and they had never met Noah yet.  We broke the trip up in two days we spent the night in Great Falls Montana, then made it to Canada the second day.  We had a small little hiccup at the boarder, they almost made an issue about me bringing the boys across the boarder without a letter from Jason saying it was okay because he was not with us (he had the annual Alphagrapics conference in Florida so he wasn't able to come with us)  I had done my research and nothing said I needed a letter, so I was a little annoyed but in the end he let us go.

It was great to see grandma and grandpa and check out there new place to live.  They have to have separate rooms now.  Grandma is in a wing for the patients with dementia, and grandpa has his own room.

The big hit of the trip for my boys was the pool and the water slide, we had to go swimming every day we were there.  I begged off one night and the twins were so good to take the boys.  I don't know what I would of done on this trip without the Uncles to help out, they were seriously a god send.  At one point the boys wanted nothing from me and it was all about the uncles, I want the uncles to do it, I want the uncles to take me.  I hope my boys know how lucky they are to have such awesome uncles who love them and indulge them as much as they do.

The family reunion went well, it was a lot of work seeings how mom was in charge of it so that meant we spent a lot of time helping with the food and getting the room all set up.  I was exhausted by the  end of the trip.  Then we still had a two day drive a head of us, I have sworn that I will not make that drive again, it is worth it to fly and pay the extra money.

This was my summer for wedding cakes, It seemed like I was doing one every weekend.  It wasn't that bad it just felt like it.  There were three wedding cakes, wedding cupcakes and making the cupcake stand, and then a cake for my grandma's 95th birthday.

Nicoles Wedding

So another of Val's daughter got married this summer and she also wanted me to make cupcakes like I had for her sisters the summer before.  This time I made red velvet and white almond.  I also had the bright idea I would make a cupcake stand for it also.  So I went and bought a large piece of MDF board and brought it home and measured it out and cut out my squares and then figured out how to use the router that Jason has and hasn't ever used before.  I was pretty proud of my self, for figuring out how to do it all.  I had to have Jason's help drilling the holes and getting it put together but it was my idea as to how it was put together.  I think it turned out great the only problem I have found it now I have this huge cupcake tower and no place to store it.

They had their wedding in a beautiful park up Provo canyon, it was a beautiful setting, we had fun letting the boys play and sitting in the shade where is was much cooler.

I still try to get a family picture at events like this I know one day Noah will cooperate, I just keep hoping it is going to be sooner rather than later.

Uncle Aaron was teaching Noah naughty things to do with frosting.  All I have to say is that one day he is going to have kids and I will teach them all sorts of fun things then send them home.

And I realize that we went to a wedding and I didn't even get a picture of the bride and groom, opps!
