I wrote this post last week but I was having issues gettinng the pictures uploaded so I never got around to posting it. I guess better late than never :)
So I had called and scheduled to have our carpets cleaned last week, they really needed it. They haven't ever been cleaned and it has been almost 3 years since the carpet was put in. So they were coming Monday at 11. Well Sunday when Noah woke up from his nap I noticed his left eye was a little goupy and I got a little concerned especially when it kept getting goupy. So we headed off to insta care, sure enough poor kid had pink eye, and a double ear infection. Well Monday morning I woke up to Ashton complaining that his ear hurt and he was whimpering about how much it hurt which is so out of character for him, then I noticed his left eye it was getting goupy too. So I called the DR office and was able to get him in first thing. He also had pink eye, but his ears looked just fine.
After all this I was considering canceling the carpet cleaning but I didn't want to reschedule so I still had them come. I moved all the small furniture and stuff and made a cozy place for us to hang out in the kitchen, while the carpets were being cleaned. I had kind of forgotten what a pain it is to have this done. For the most part the boys were pretty good hanging in the kitchen, then Noah wanted to go to sleep so I pulled his mattress from his bed and brought it in and let him have a nap, Ashton decided he wanted to sleep to, which surprised me he hasn't taken naps for a few months now.
I didn't think about how long the carpets needed to dry so when he was finished cleaning them I headed down to my mom's house to borrow some fans to put all over the house, I ended up staying a little longer than i had planned with having two kids with Pink eye I didn't want them infecting her house too. I did let them play with the train table, I figured it wouldn't be to bad to wipe that down before we left.
When we got home the carpets were still pretty wet, so I put fans all around the house to help the carpets dry faster and we all went to bed. We still have a few spots this morning that aren't totally dry, so I am just adjusting the fans to help them dry a little quicker. So it looks like we will have to spend another day hanging in the kitchen. I probably could let them lose but I don't want to have to clean these carpets again so the less we walk on the damp carpet the better I think. So far they still think it is pretty cool hanging in the kitchen watching movies on the laptop. Lets hope they still feel this way this afternoon.

I can't believe this
So a couple of weeks ago Jason got a strange message on an adoption website and when he did some research decided that it was a cruel joke or something. Well that spurred him to do some more research and he started to check somethings out. Well to make a long story short and because I can't remember all of the details. Jason and his friend Lisa did some pretty cool detective work and they were able to locate Jason's birth mom.
So last week Jason wrote a letter to her and sent a pic of our family. The letter was delivered Friday morning and within like 30 mins he had an email from his birth mom. They have no written quite a few emails over the weekend talking about their lives and what has been going on for the last 35 years. He even got a message from his grandma telling him welcome to the family. Jason has a half brother and in a weird coincident he has an uncle named Jason who has a daughter named Ashton. How weird is that!
I am so thrilled for Jason and can't believe how well this has gone, I know that is was pretty scary to send that letter not knowing how it would be received but so far so good. It has been an emotional weekend but in a very good way!

Poor Jason
So this last week Jason has been sick yet again, and finally on Friday he had enough and needed me to take him to insta care. He kept saying that he was having some of the same symptoms that he had years ago when he was in Tucson and he ended up having pericarditis. I was going to send him off himself but he was feeling a little dizzy and asked me to take him. We loaded the boys up in the car and off we went.
We spent about an hour at the insta care, the boys were really good they watched TV, and played with the little toy tables that they had, and I had also brought Ashton's leapster and I had my phone so I was prepared to keep them entertained. While I was waiting I found a new picture app so I was playing around with it. It is kind of fun using all the different filters.
When Jason came out he said we needed to go to the ER, they were sending his stuff over to Lakeview hospital so we needed to go right away. They needed to run some more tests. On our way over I called my mom and asked if she could come and get the boys.
We got to the ER and they were ready for him almost immediately, they took him back and started a bunch more tests. Meanwhile I was with the boys in the waiting room, they sat with me for a little while, then Noah decided to start pushing chairs all over. I needed to distract him with something one of the receptionists brought them some crayons and coloring books. That worked for a while, then Noah was bored again, I bought them some chips and when those were gone, I moved to whatever I could find in my purse. I found two suckers and then I just let them run around where we were waiting.
Overall the boys were really good, I could tell that they were getting restless but they just were playing with each other really well. My mom got there after we had been there for about an hour and a half and she took them home with her. Once the boys were gone I got to go back and sit with Jason while we were waiting for the results from the tests. It was Pericarditis, they weren't going to admit him they said he could go home but if it got any worse then we had to come back. We were suppose to make and appointment to see the cardiologist Mon or Tues so he could run another test, but of course they can't see him until wed morning. So now we just have to wait until then to find out anything more.
Thank goodness Jason isn't in pain anymore the meds are working as long as he keeps taking them, He can't go back to work until he is cleared from the Dr so hopefully all will go well. We have to totally thank my Mom and Myron who came and got the boys on Sat and they kept them until today when she brought them home. I think it was good for Jason to have a couple of days of peace and quiet so he can get better. We are so fortunate to have parents who are so willing to help us and take the boys when ever we need it.

No- No's
Last week right before bedtime, we had just finished reading books and I said okay Noah lets go to bed, he got up and climbed into Ashton's bed and laid down and pulled the covers up and wanted to sleep there. Of course Ashton threw a fit and was not having any of that, but Noah was so cute. I asked him if he wanted a big boy bed like Ash and he nodded his head and for some reason that made me really sad, like my baby was growing up all of the sudden. I was just one of those weird moments when you realize that your baby is getting bigger and there is nothing you can do about it.

getting caught up
A few months ago I made a goal with myself that I wanted to have all of my pictures from 2009 (yes I am that far behind) all scrapbooked. I had all of Noah's pages done so I just needed to focus on the family album and then Ashton's. For the boys I do one layout a month and then for the family album it is all the holidays and special events I want to remember.
Then it is onto 2010, I tried taking a pic a day and I did pretty good for the most part I am missing a few days here and there each month but I am going to be okay with that. I ordered Project Life from Becky Higgins and it arrived yesterday, I am very excited to get all my pics together and get closer to being caught up. I got the album all set up and have the first week done. I can definitely see how this is going to be quite a bit simpler than the traditional layouts.

Happy New Year
We rang in the new year with the Bellamy family. We had cheese fondue, spinach artichoke dip, little smokies, and of course treats. The boys played, I don't think they had one fight all night. We put Noah to bed around 9:00 and Ashton actually made it till midnight. He did have a little melt down when it was time to leave, but it was after midnight so that is to be expected.
We got to play a couple of games, and it was a lot of fun, it has been a while since we played games. We played smart ass, a new one Korie got for Christmas, and we also played carcassone. We had a great evening and it was a great way to ring in the new year. We have to have kissing pics every year, the one I got of the Bellamys, was blurry and this was is also blurry but not as bad
I thought it was funny we had three different phones and they all said a different time.
New years day I spent the day taking down Christmas and cleaning the house. It took me all day but it sure did feel good and the house looked awesome, If only it would stay looking that way longer. I decided to rearrange the furniture in the living room. I think I like this layout a little better. I just need to come up with some new decorations for the top of the piano, I just threw somethings up there for now.
I think I want to make some pillows for the two chairs, I just need to find some fabric that I like first.
I think that I want to recover the rocking chair again. The brown doesn't go as well I have some black and white floral fabric that I think would look great. And yes those are a few Christmas presents that we still need to give out. We missed my family this year due to Jason being sick, and then my dad went out of town I guess I should get on that.
Just because he is so stinking cute. I hope he is finally getting better about me taking pics of him.
