Just some rambling from a stay at home mom

Okay so here is another post of just random happenings this week, I have been lazy and haven't gotten around to posting lately.

I went to IKEA on Monday with both of the boys. I had Noah in the Baby Bjorn and Ashton was in the stroller. It wasn't actually to bad until I started buying things and ran out of space in the stroller. I then tried to carry a bag but that got to heavy. I ended up pushing the stroller and pulling a cart behind me.

I decided to get Ashton a blanket for his bed, he has needed one and when I saw this one I thought it would be perfect in his room. When I put it on his bed he wasn't to happy about it and tried to pull it off, that was until I showed him the animals then he was happy about it being on his bed. I wasn't sure how Ashton would like it when he went to be, he has never been one to like any other blanket other then his little blue one. But he got into bed and snuggled right in. It is actually for a twin size bed, so it is too big for the bed, but then it don't have to get new bedding when we do buy a bigger bed for him.

On Wednesday my new camera got here. It is a Nikon D60.

I am so excited although I do feel a little overwhelmed in not really knowing how to use the camera for anything other than pointing and shooting right now. I want to take a photography class so I can take better pictures and learn more about my new camera. I have been playing with it, I think it might become my new hobby.

Random Nothingness

I didn't really have much to share just a bunch of random happenings from this week.

Noah smiling at mommy. He is doing this a lot lately, it is enough to melt my heart when he smiles at me. Noah had his 2 month check up he is 13lbs and 22 inches long, I can't believe how much he has grown. He also had to get his shots today which are never fun, but he was a good little trooper through them, the binky was a huge help.

Ashton was having a snack in the kitchen. I left the room and when I came back this is what I found. He had put the blanket over his head and had fallen asleep. It was so cute I had to take a picture, then I put him down for a nap.

Noah checking himself out in the mirror. I didn't spike his hair today after his bath like I normally do, as you can see it has a mind of its own and likes to stand up anyways.

I am making Noah a blanket here are half of the blocks cut out, now all I need to do is sew them all together.

Our new living room chairs. We had to do some rearranging to find the right spot for them. They are so comfortable, I love them. I just need to get a table to put between them and some pictures to put on the wall and this area will be finished. Well not totally finished we do need a new couch to finish the room, we decided to sell one of them to make room for the new chairs and it sold so quickly on KSL we decided to sell both of them.

New design

Since the new year I have been wanting to change the layout on my blog. I am finally getting to it. I am not sure if I like it or not yet, but I can't work on it any more tonight I have already spent to long playing with it tonight. Maybe tomorrow I can make more changes.

Date Night

Jason and I got to go and have a date night tonight. It was so nice and long overdue. My dad and Val came up and watched the boys while Jason and I got to go to dinner and a movie. I can't remember the last time that we have had time to ourselves without any children. We went and had mexican food then to see Bride Wars (my choice obviously) it was a fun movie and a much needed night away.

Pictures

I wanted to go and have pictures taken with Noah and Ashton, today so while I was visiting my mom we decided to take the boys to kiddie kandids. I wanted some pictures with them together and separate. Ashton was not going to have anything to do with that. He freaked out he clung to me or my mom, anytime we tried to put him down. We even tried to bribe him with props but nothing worked. I finally gave up and just got pictures with Noah. Maybe someday I will get some good pictures of them together. While at my mom's house later that day I did get one picture of them together, not exactly what I had in mind but it will have to do for now.

Ashton was trying to take Noah out of the laundry basket so he could have it all to himself.

Snowflakes

I replaced the large ornaments I had hanging, with these fun snowflakes. I love how they look and I can keep them up till winter is over.

Really Bad Mommy

Okay so today, I am officially a bad mommy.

I had gone down and had lunch with my mom in Provo, on my way home I decided that I needed to stop at Archiver's which was at the mall. I got Ashton out of the car and got the stroller out of the trunk. I asked Ashton if he wanted to sit in the stroller and surprisingly he did so I put my purse and keys down in the trunk to get him in the stroller. I got him settled grabbed my purse and shut the trunk. I headed to get Noah out of the car. Imagine my surprise when the doors to the car were locked. I don't know how the doors got locked, I must of pushed the wrong button when I opened the trunk. At that moment I realized that my keys were in the trunk. I have never done anything like this before. Surprisingly I didn't panic to bad, Noah was asleep and I knew he was plenty warm for the time being. I called Jason to get the insurance number for road side assistance. When they said that it was going to take about an hour to get some there, they suggested calling 911. So I did, they got there in about 10 mins, it another 5 to get the car unlocked. The officer said that this happens all the time, when I said how embarrassed I was. Noah slept the whole time, but I still felt awful. I never thought that I would be one of those mom's that does that but here I am.

Ashton was such a good boy during this whole time. He sat in the stroller ate his crackers and played with his car. I got Ashton out and we still went shopping

Bad Mommy ????

This is what my children are doing while I am blogging, I can't decide if I should feel bad or not.

I laid Noah on the floor next to me so I could use both hands to type and he fell asleep there. Instead of moving him and taking the chance he would wake up and not go back to sleep, I left him there to sleep.
Ashton was in the family room watching Toy Story, when I went to check on him, he had turned on the portable DVD player and was watching Ice Age on that one.

Ringing in the new year

We spent new years at home this year. It was pretty low key but still a lot of fun, we had the Bellamys over, we ate a ton of yummy food and played games all night.
