Ordinary Every day

Caitlin and I went to see grandma at work after we dropped the boys off the go camping with Dad and Val  for the weekend.

Jason and I went to the Farmers market with Caitlin, it is nice to only have one child again.

Caitlin loves animals, I went to This is the Place Heritage park and she loved the goats.  She kept laying her head on the goat and giving her loves.

Caitlin got to have her first ice cream cone, she actually did pretty good with it and didn't make as big of a mess as she could have. Contrary to the look on her face she loved the ice cream.

Caitlin likes to go for walks every afternoon usually after her nap.  She wakes up and wants to go outside so we head out and she always heads for her stroller.  We take a lap around the neighborhood and she is happy.

Last week two night in a row a bunch of kids in the neighborhood got together to play night games, so I let the boys stay up and play.  They were out playing till 10:45 they were having so much fun. This is another reason I love this neighborhood I love that my kids get to have these experiences.

Caitlin loves to watch frozen she watches it at least once a day, her new thing is to sit on the edge of the couch while watching.

I have been trying to take the kids to a park at least a couple times a week.  We have been going in the morning cause it isn't as hot.  Caitlin loved the merry go round and didn't want to get off it.

We went to the new aquarium with some friends, it was a fun morning the kids had fun and we got out of the house for a little while.

We went to a friends 1st birthday mustache party, it was lots of fun.

We took the kids to the zoo, and Caitlin loved the animals and we got to see the new exhibits that they opened in the last year.  We ended up deciding to get an annual pass so we can take the kids again. We have actually been twice since getting the pass.


Jason finally graduated with his degree from the University of Utah.  I am so very proud of him and the sacrifices he has made to get this degree.  It has been a long time coming, he has been going to school since Ashton was born.   He didn't want to go to commencement or anything so I did make him let me throw a small BBQ with family.  I couldn't let this occasion go by without doing something.

Little miss independent, she is getting this attitude that I so wish I could get rid of.  She throws tantrums, wants to do things herself, gets made when she doesn't get her way.  It is a dang good thing she is cute.


Caitlin loves to go on rides on the go kart, Her brothers are nice enough to take her sometimes.

Golfing

So I signed Ashton up for some golfing lessons in June.  He was pretty excited about it we borrowed some small golf clubs from my dad for his lessons.  I wanted to make sure he liked it and wanted to continue doing it before spending the money on some golf clubs.  He was a little nervous the first day but after that he was fine, he seemed to love it. He did miss his last class because him and Noah went camping with Dad and Val.  I thought about signing him up again the next week but we were going to AZ so he would of missed two classes.  So I guess next summer we will do lessons again.

He has been asking to go golfing for weeks now, but it is too hard to do it during the day so I kept putting him off.  finally I was able to take him one Saturday morning, he did pretty good, he does still need some lessons but I think he will get it in no time.  I am excited to be able to take him golfing one day.  He was also thrilled to be able to use his new golf clubs we got him.

4th of july

So our 4th of July activities started on the 3rd, we went to the west bountiful park that evening and had some food and got to check out the safety fair, then around 10 pm the fireworks started.  I didn't know how Caitlin was going to react to the fireworks cause the boys at her age hated fireworks, but she ended up loving them. Daddy brought home some balloons and Caitlin was in heaven, she loves balloons.

On the fourth, we decided to go to the little parade that the city puts on then we were going to have a little BBQ in the back yard.  Mom came up in the morning and she came to the parade with us.  It was a fun little parade.  The boys weren't super happy about going to the parade, but as soon as they realized they were going to get candy they changed their tune.

Afterwards we headed home to have a BBQ in the backyard.  Dad, Val and two of her grandchildren came up also.  It was fun to have a couple kids running around.  We found the only shade we could cause it was so hot outside.  I of course forgot to get a picture of everyone while they were here.  I also didn't get a family picture, oops!  I thought it was funny my dad fell asleep on the couch while we cleaned up the kitchen and everyone was talking and kids running around.

I tried to get a picture of the kids and after many many attempts this was the best I could get.  I guess this is pretty typical of my family.

I had to bribe Caitlin with Dum Dum suckers to smile for a picture, of course one wasn't enough she needed a handful.

Those baby blue eyes of hers get me every time.

she only has a bottle when she takes a nap and goes to bed, i know I should take them away but I just can't bring myself to do it.
She is super picky about her sippy cups I haven't found the right one yet
When she is done eating her food, she throws anything left on the floor, it is super annoying
She loves to drink milk from her bowls of cereal
Her favorite movie is Frozen, she can watch it multiple times everyday.

She loves grey, and will follow her around all day, grey puts up with a lot from her
She loves to play with her brothers, especially Noah, he can make her laugh like no one else
Caitlin has fallen totally in love with her dad these last couple of weeks, she gets super happy to see him and run to him when he gets home. She calls him Dada, when my phone rings she says Dada.

She loves dogs, especially larger ones, she likes to give them loves by laying her head on their backs
She loves to be outside, if she is grouchy taking her outside will help
She loves to go and collect raspberries from the bushes in the yard, she will eat them by the handfuls
Going for a walk after her nap is one of her favorite things

Dum dum suckers are a great way to keep her happy when I need her to be.  I use them when I am shopping, or at swimming lessons, or anytime I need to keep her happy and distracted.
She hates to get dressed, or have her diaper changed, or even to have her hair done.
She has gotten a bit of an attitude these days, she has a scream that can break glass

Raspberries

We have a bunch of raspberry plant around our yard.  I love raspberries just don't love the plants.  I think I would feel different if they were in a designated garden but they are planted in our flower beds in different places, so it tends to make the beds look messy.  Anyways they are getting ripe and Jason and Caitlin have a new routine they like to go out at night and find the ripe ones and eat them.  We have to keep Caitlin away from the plants on her own cause she likes to try and pick the ones that are not ripe yet.

Fathers day

So we had a big family dinner at mom and Myron's house for fathers day.  We had most of Myron's family and then dad and Val were there.  It was a yummy dinner and and the weather was beautiful it was awesome just sitting outside and visiting.  We had a nice and relaxing weekend with only Caitlin with us.  Dad and Val had taken the boys camping and they brought them to dinner with them on Sunday.  We had both forgotten how much easier it is with only one child, even though she was a bit of a pill.

I am grateful to the two dads I have in my life who are such a good example of how a father should be, they love me and my family and that is the most important thing.

I am so grateful to the man I married and what a wonderful dad he is to our children.

Noah's first stitches

So Noah got his first stitches two months ago, thanks to him and Ashton fighting one morning.  It was before breakfast one morning and the boys started fighting over something and the next thing I know Noah is crying and his lip is bleeding pretty good.  Come to find out Ashton hit him with a gun, he immediately felt bad and was apologizing to Noah.  I knew right away I was going to have to taken him for stitches.  I called Jason and asked if he could come home to take care of Caitlin so I didn't have to worry about her along with Noah.  So he came home and I took Noah to insta care to get it stitched up, turns out they wouldn't touch his lip because it crossed the vermilion border which is the border between the lip and skin above it.  SO they sent us to primary children's to get it taken care of.  We headed up there they knew we were coming and we got settled in a room and we had to wait.  They told him he could have an ipad to play on while we were waiting and he was pretty excited about that.  They gave him some medication to help him be calm and it would also help him forget what was happening.  It was pretty funny as soon as the medication went to affect he kept falling over and he couldn't hold his arm up to play on the ipad any more.  They came in and had to numb his lip and get it sewed up.  He wasn't super cooperative so it was tough to watch, it took a couple people to hold him down and get the stitches in.  Once they were done he got to play the ipad again and then they brought him a slushie.  this wasn't the way that I had planned to spend my day and I was sure it wasn't the way Jason planned on spending his.  I thought it was funny when you asked him what the worst part about it was when he had to get the medicine in his nose.  He didn't even remember getting the shot or the stitches.
