Bye, Bye Binky

Today ends an era of the Binky for this family.  We have been needing to take the Binky away from Noah for some time now, and I have been putting it off.  If anyone knows Noah they know what a strong willed and determined child he is.  I knew that this was not going to be an easy task.  Jason and I talked about it and decided that we would take it away when he turned 3, well that happened almost three weeks ago so it was time.

He has been addicted to his Binky's from the hospital, here he is getting ready to go home and already he loves that Binky.

It was such a godsend to have something to keep him happy with

We have been telling him that he was a big boy now and the Binky was going to go away.  He was also told that if he used all his Binky's then he could go to the store and pick out a prize.  So today was the day, we collected all the Binky's we had around the house and put them in a bag to use to get a prize.  We dropped Ash off at pre school and off we headed to Target, I let him pick out what he wanted he choose two Thomas trains (surprise, surprise, not)  when we checked out, I had Noah hand the checker the bag of Binky's and quietly told him to throw them away.  So far so good, Noah had no problem letting them go and was just excited to have some new trains.

We finally switched from the kind they give you in the hospital when he was about 6 months old, the new ones are so much cuter!

He wanted this in his mouth at all times, he always had one and was sucking on it.

Well we have been home for most of the afternoon and there hasn't been any issues so far until a few minutes ago when he tried to find his Binky's and I had to remind him that they were gone and he got some new trains.  He cried for a minute then he was fine again.  I didn't think we would have any issues during the day, it is tonight that I am dreading.  SO wish us luck !!!

WE finally had to limit it for bedtime and nap time only

Whats better than one Binky, two Binky's

I do have to say I am a little sad to see the Binky go, it means he isn't my baby any more he is growing up and it is happening all to fast.
P.S. Grandmas if you have any Binky's at your house, please throw then away.
