golfing

Last Friday I golfed in a tournament with Dad and Leland and Aaron. It was at Talons cove along the west side of Utah Lake. It was a pretty course, I really enjoyed it. I was a little nervous because I have not golfed in like a year and a half. I was going to try and go to the driving range before but never had the time. It turned out to be a perfect day, the weather was awesome, and I probably played the best that I ever had. We ended up using 8 of my drives because they were the best out of everyone. If you know my father and my brothers, that is saying a lot that we used so many of my drives. Now if only my short game was just as good.
We saw a little red fox running through the course.
Over all we had a great day. Aaron got a hole in one, on one hole unfortunately we could not use that shot for our score, but it did win him a mug full of money.
I got the longest drive for the women, and over all we got second place for a co-ed team. I'd say it was a pretty good day. Over all I would say it was a great way to spend the day with my dad and brothers.

Dane Cook

Last week Jason and I got to go see Dane Cook. I was so excited about this even for a couple of different reasons.

1. Dane Cook is Hilarious
2. Ashton and Noah were going to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house. This was Noah's first overnight visit, hopefully it won't be his last :)
3. This was going to be the first full nights sleep I have had in 6 months. To be honest I think this was what I most excited about.
4. Jason and I got to have a date night. We were rebels and brought in our camera and took pictures. They weren't going to let us in with our camera, and I wasn't about to walk back to the car, so we hid the camera in Jason's pocket and went through a different door.

We had a great night. We went to Costa Vida for dinner, before the show. Pork salad, chicken quesdilla, and chips and queso. Just typing this makes me hungry!
It was an awesome night. It felt so good to be able to sleep with no interruptions. I was a little sad that I had to set an alarm to get up at 5am to go golfing the next morning, but I still got 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep which was awesome.

New fence

Now that the pine trees were gone we needed to do something about the fence. Jason has wanted a wooden fence for years, now with the trees gone we could do something about that. We took down the chain link fence and used the existing metal posts to build a wooden fence. I am quite proud of us for getting it done so quickly. It only took us two days to get it done. I say "us" but really Jason did most of the work. I did help with handing him screws and boards, and at the end I did put in some screws. I think it looks awesome, and it gives us privacy from the neighbors.
Here we are about half way done.

Towards the end Noah just wanted to be held, so I put him in the baby bjorn and kept helping. It worked out perfectly, he was very happy and content.

The fence is done. We still have a few things to do like fix the curbing we had to move, then we are going to put bark down around the patio. But so far we are pleased with the results. It is like we have a whole new backyard.

Tree removal

I have not blogged forever. I have missed it but then we have been pretty busy lately, working on projects around the house and just being outside enjoying the beautiful weather.
****I am having issues with placing photos, they are a little out of order I have tried to fix it, but nothings seems to be helping. oh well, you still get the idea.******
First of all we decided to cut down 4 pine trees in our backyard. Jason and Gary cut them down one night in about 2 1/2 hours I was amazed how fast it went. I forgot to take a before picture until they already had one tree down.
Here it is with the trees cut down and all cleaned up. The stumps were still in the ground at this point.
The huge pile of branches and tree trunks.

They had already cut down one tree when I remembered I should be taking pictures of this.

The next day my brothers came up and helped me get rid of all the branches and the trees.

Next was the stump removal. It took us almost a week to get them dug up with all the roots. We love the patio now that the trees are gone. They were just to big for the space and it made the patio seem really small. Jason has wanted to cut down these trees for three years now and I never wanted him to. I guess this is one instance I can say "Honey you were right"

We are still here

I know I haven't blogged forever. I just haven't been in the mood and haven't felt like it. I will up date soon I promise.
Until then here's something I downloaded the other day, I love this baby to death. He is just so cute. I love Ashton too so don't worry, but he doesn't cooperate much for pictures so it is a little harder to get a cute one of him.

There's nothing like a good floor!!

I put Ashton down for a nap this afternoon. He fell asleep in his bed, then about 40 minutes later I heard footsteps upstairs. I went to investigate a few minutes later and this is what I found.

He finished his nap on the floor. I decided not to move him and let him finish his nap on the floor. I figured if he wanted to sleep on the floor who am I to stop him.
